Cancer Education UK now provides a free holistic therapy service to cancer patients within the BAMER community which includes Indian Head Massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy treatments.
Our new holistic team includes Ayuko and Wendy.
Ayuko is a qualified therapist who has studied complementary therapies – Level 3 at MET college in Brighton as an international student from Japan. She has a good knowledge of anatomy and her services include Swedish Massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy. Ayuko is always happy to help people by alleviating the pain and stress caused by chronic illnesses.
Emma specialises in Reflexology and Indian Head Massage and for the last five years has been providing community-based services across various organisations. She has delivered services to both patients and staff at Homerton Hospital and University College Hospital which includes well-being sessions for the nursing staff. She has also been a volunteer therapist since 2016 and derives a lot of satisfaction in her work because she is able to have a positive impact on people’s lives.
Going through invasive cancer treatment is debilitating and can really impact on your mental state and well being.
Our holistic team are keen to raise awareness of the benefits of complementary therapies within BAMER communities.
The benefits of complementary therapies for those going through treatment include promoting deep relaxation and well-being by reducing stress, optimising good health and building resilience.
