Our Support
We want to support all in the fight against cancer while making an increased effort to represent and support the Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic and Refugee (BAMER) community by educating and raising awareness of cancer. Here are some of the options of help we provide:
Helpline
We have a support helpline open Mon-Fri 9am-5pm where you can call to self-refer for access to our cancer support or even just have a confidential chat with our team about your journey. You can call the helpline at 0203 811 8270.
Physiotherapy
We offer free physiotherapy sessions through our collaboration with Physiofriend. These sessions will guide you from diagnosis to treatment through to full recovery. Click here to find out more.
Therapy
Our team is complemented by a holistic therapy team who are specialists in providing Indian Head Massage, Reflexology and Aromatherapy treatments to cancer patients. Click here to find out more.
Yoga
Coming soon to Cancer Education UK. We will provide free breathing mediation and upper body movement exercises. Currently, we are collaborating with the lovely Vicky Fox, a London based yoga teacher. Vicky also specialises in teaching yoga to those diagnosed with cancer.
Do you want to help get involved and make positive change? Volunteer and join our team!
By volunteering for Cancer Education UK, you are helping us make sure that no one has to face cancer alone.
Our volunteers play an important part in the charity. They help to spread the word about Cancer Education UK and provide support to a community who needs it.
We’re always on the lookout for new volunteers and we’re grateful for any time you can give, whether it’s a regular volunteer, casual volunteer or a one-off day – it all makes a difference.
A testimony from one of our volunteers – “It offers me the chance to make a difference to someone with the opportunity of meeting new people.”
You can also get stuck in to our fundraising challenges so we can help the BAMER community or even come up with your own unique idea to raise money! You can express your interest by emailing us here.
We are always happy to receive donations, that help us save people’s lives. From awareness classes to educate the community to providing support packs and events to help those going through cancer treatment, your money can go a long way to help BAME survivors realise they are not alone. Thank you!
